Welcome to Yarram.
We are Yarram. We're hard-working, adventure-loving, and smile-wearing. We're farmers and fishers, loggers and labourers, entrepreneurs and entertainers. We're proud of our place and always happy to welcome travellers along the South Gippsland Highway and Grand Strzelecki Track. Our reach touches Agnes Falls and the best end of Ninety Mile Beach, the pelicans of Port Albert and the lyrebirds of Tarra-Bulga National Park. We're responsible for the Christmas Market, Halloween, tourism development and your favourite milk. Let us know you're here with the #yarram tag on social media and we'll say g'day.

Yarram’s Award Winning Street Art Trail
Heesco Town: Australia’s Best Street Art Trail 2020 and 2021 - Yarram Water Tower: Best Street Art Experience in Victoria 2023
YARRAM WATER TOWER mural
The Yarram Water Tower was painted by Heesco Khosnaran in April 2023. The top part of the tower identifies the key local tourism hotspots that feature throughout our region.
The lower part of the tower design is a colourful and meaningful image filled with rich imagery and embedded stories and symbols. 'GUNAIKURANI' Elder Sandra Patten designed this part of the tower and sees it as a visual expression of 'Sitting On Country' where she feels at home and connected.
Ada Crossley Mural
Born at Tarraville, near Yarram, Ada Crossley was the daughter of Edward Wallis Crossley, an ironmonger, and Harriette (née Morris). Ada went to Europe in 1894, and during an illustrious career as a contralto gave five command performances for Queen Victoria. It is recorded her rendition of Nearer My God to Thee was played by the band on the Titanic as its sank, and her rendition of the song at the Titanic memorial service in the Royal Albert Hall is recalled as one of the highlights of the occasion, hence the reference in the mural.
Ralph vale mural
Ralph Vale was a local Bullocky back in the day. He lived up in Hiawatha and was known and loved by many in the area…. a traditional old timer. Ralph used to bring the Bullocks down from Hiawatha to take part in the Yarram Tarra Festival each year. In the early days, some of the Bullock Trains had pairs of 16 which was quite remarkable. Everyone loved old Ralph!
Ralph represents the early settlers that made this area what it is today.
